BREAKING IT DOWN

Aka, What the heck do I enter where?

01

Annual Earnings Goal ($)

The target amount of income or profit you aims to achieve within a one-year period. This goal might relate to your annual salary or profit you aim to generate through your operations, sales and other income sources.

02

Working Weeks Per Year

The number of weeks you want to spend working within a year. This is used to understand the amount of time dedicated to work.

The number of working weeks can be calculated by taking the total number of weeks in a year (52) and subtracting the number of weeks taken off for vacation, holidays, sick leave, and any other non-working periods.

03

Working Hours Per Week

The total number of hours you want to spend working within a single week. This is used to understand the amount of time dedicated to work over the course of a week and is important for calculating productivity, and managing work-life balance.

For example:

  • If you want to work 8 hours a day for 5 days a week, your working hours per week would be 40 hours (8 hours/day * 5 days/week = 40 hours/week).

  • If you want to work part-time at 4 hours a day for 5 days a week, your working hours per week would be 20 hours (4 hours/day * 5 days/week = 20 hours/week).

04

Overhead Costs ($)

The expenses it costs you to run your business. These costs are essential for running the business but cannot be traced directly to a single service.

Examples might include:

- rent or leasing payments

- subscriptions (canva, xero, trello etc)

- marketing and advertising

- insurance
